DESIGN FOR A DIE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,878, dated June 26, 1900. Application filed May 26, 1900. Serial No 18,161. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM RUBIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Omaha, in the county of Douglas and State of Nebraska, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Dies, of which the following is a specification;

The leading and characteristic feature of my design is the die made the subject of the illustration herein, in which- Figure 1 is a sectional elevation of a die con structed according to my design, and Fig. 2 is a face view of the same.

Like reference-numerals indicate like parts in the two views.

The head 1 of the die is of circular contour and has a cylindrical stem 2 thereon. Its active face is formed with a central socket 3, surrounding which is a circular projection 4, having a sharp edge formed by the inclined wall 5 and the perpendicular wall 6. Between the wall 6 and the socket 3 is a flat face or bottom wall 7 The projection 4 extends beyond all other points on the face of the die. Adjacent to the projection 4, but just outside the same, is a circular projection 8, formed by the inclined walls 9 and 10, and outside this projection 8, but on the same level therewith, is a projection 11, formed by the inclined wall 12 and the perpendicular wall 13.

Outside the projection 11 and concentric therewith is a circular channel or groove 14, and surrounding said groove is a circular projection 15, formed by the inclined wall 16 and perpendicular wall 1?. The projections 8 and 11 are lower than the projection 4 and the projection 15 is lower than the projections 8 and IL Outside the wall 17 are two coucentric projections 18 and 19, separated by the circular depression 20, the former being bounded on its inner side by the inclined wall 21 and the latter being bounded on its outer side by the perpendicular wa 32. The extreme outer edge of the die is formed with a circular projection 23, having a hat face 24 and an inclined wall 25, leading to said flat face. The said inclined wall forms one side of a circular depression just outside the projection 19, the other side thereof being formed by the inclined walls 26 and J7.

Vhat I claim as my invention is- The design for a die, substantially as shown and described.
