fizz/enfak W MM UNITED STATES JOHN IV. CULMER, OF CLEVELAND,
OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE NATIONAL COMPUTING SCALE COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A SCALE-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,986, dated June 13, 1899.
Application filed May 13, 1899. Serial No. 716,750, Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern: 4 Be it known that I, JOHN W. CULMER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, county of Cuyahoga, and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Scale-Frames, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a scaleframe embodying my invention; and Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical section in the plane indicated by 2 2, looking in the direction of the arrow.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist of a reetangular base somewhat longer in one direction than the other and having the form substantially of a truncated pyramid, a vertical cylindrical standard extending upward from the top of the base, close to one end thereof, which standard has at its upper end two arms which curve outwardly and upwardly, and a box-like structure upon the base, at the o'pposite end thereof, which box-like structure at both of its ends overhangs the base, substantially as shown.
A represents the base, B the standard, 0 C the arms, and D the box-like structure referred to. In the top of the base is a central longitudinal slot (1, which extends toward and unites with a vertical slot 1) in the lower end of the standard. In that side of the box-like structure D which faces the standard is a central vertical slot d. The base is provided with a plurality of legs a, substantially as shown.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a scale-frame as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
JOHN \V. CULMER.
