DESIGN FOR A MAIL-BAG STAPLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,015, dated December 19, 1899.
Application filed August 25, 1899. Serial No. 728,507. Term of patent 14 years To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALBERT E. WAcGoNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Muskegon, in the county of Muskegon and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Mail- Bag Staple, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan view of a mail-bag staple, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the same.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in the staple A, having an opening B at the top and a. web 0, connecting the sides of the staple and extending nearly to the top thereof.
The particular form of my design is as follows:
A A are the parallel sides of the staple, substantially cylindrical in form and turned inward at the top, with rounded angles, and
terminating at a distance from and opposite each other, leaving an opening-space B.
C is a flat Web connecting the sides A A and extending to near the inwardly-turned ends thereof and having a concave upper edge. At the base of the web 0 is a bedplate D, at right angles thereto.
E E are reduced extensions in line with the sides A A and extending from the opposite side of the plate D.
