(Amalie-on filed my 91, 1900.)
WI TNESSES. IIVVEN TOR M Z i {a .Itwrrwy UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM W. IIUELSTER, OF GRAND RAPIDS, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A HINGE MEMBER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,901, dated July 3, 1900.
Application filed May 21, 1900- Serial No. 17,482. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that LWILLIAM W. HUELSTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Grand Rapids, in the county of Kent and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Hinge Member, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective of a hinge member, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
As is shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist, essentially, of a plate A, having two straight edges at right angles to each other and provided with flanges B and having its remaining edges regularly curved and having near one end a curved slot D and near the other end a partially-detached portion E.
The device, as shown, consists of a flat plate A, having its edges turned at right angles to form rectilinear flanges B B, arranged at right angles to each other and having a recess 0 adjacent to the end of the vertical flange B. One end F of the plate A is inclined about thirty degrees from the perpendicular, and its upper edge is curved on a radius extending from the angle at the junction of the flange B and the end F.
D is a segmental slot curved around the aforesaid angle as a center.
E is a portion of the plate partially detached and bent outward near its detached end and having its free end curved inward. The remainder of the edge of the plate A is in the form an ogee curve.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a hinge member, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM W. HUELSTER.
Witnesses:
FLORENCE E. SCHMIDT, PALMER A. J ONES.
