DESIGN FOR A HINGE MEMBER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,516, dated October 18, 1898.
Application filed August 22, 1898. Serial No. 689,368- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that we, LOUIS P. BAITINGER and THOMAS H. BERKLEY, of the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a I-Iinge Member, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure l is a side elevation of a hinge member embodying our new design. Fig. 2 is a top plan View of the member seen in Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is an end elevation of the hinge member.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of our design comprises the plate 1, having a plurality of apertures 2 therein, a portion of the lower side of said plate being extended laterally, as indicated by 3, and from the outer end of said laterally-projecting portion extends upwardly a pintle 4, and projecting laterally from the lower end of this pintle is an arm 5, the outer end of which is curved upwardly. Projecting at right angles to and from one side of the extension 3 is a plate 6, in which is located a plurality of apertures 7, the upper inner corner of said plate being cut off on an oblique line, and the entire edge of said plate 6 is beveled, as indicated by 8. At the point where this plate 6 joins with the extension 3 there is a vertically-arranged body 9, approximately triangular in cross-section and having the convex face 10.
We claim The design for a hinge member, snbstair t-ially as herein shown and described.
