UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
RICHARD METOALF, OF DAYTON, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE BROWN ELL X; COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A SIDE HANGER FOR STEAM-BOILERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,868, dated November 21, 1899-.
Application fiied October 30, 1899. Serial No. 735,323. Term of patent 14 years.
i'b all whom 116 may concern;
Be it known that I, RICHARD Mn'roALF, a citizen of the United States, residing at Day ton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Side Hanger for Steam-Boilers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure l is a front View of a side hanger for steam-boilers, the same showing my new design. Fig. 2 isa sectional View of the hanger on the line as so of Fig. 1, looking in either direction.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of two parallel plates or flanges A and B, which are provided with rivet-holes, and a top tubular portion 0, which is curved and an integral part of the flanges A and B. The said curved tubular portion 0 forms an eye I). ihe flanges or plates A and B have the on rvature or concave-convex form shown in Fig. 2, which causes the lower ends of said flanges to lie in a vertical plane on one side of the tubule! portion C. As shown in Fig. 1, the tubular portion 0 joins the upper ends of the flanges or plates A and B at a point in line with the longitudinal centers of said flanges.
Having described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,
The design for a side hanger for steam-boilers, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aiiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
