CHARM.
No. 28,626. Patented May 17, 1898.
Witnesses MM WM UNITED STATES PATENT OFF CE.
BENJAMIN THOMAS SELMAN, OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE.
DESIGN FOR A CHARM.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,626, dated May 17, 1898.
Application filed January 25, 1898. Serial No- 667,939- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN THOMAS SEL- MAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chattanooga, in the county of Hamilton and State of Tennessee, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Charm; and I do hereby declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the front of my newly-designed charm. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the back of the same. Fig. 3 is a cross-section.
The leading features of my design are the representation of a platform A, upon which is resting a oarpenters square B. The platform bears parallel lines to indicate the planks of which it is supposed to be composed. The
planks are numbered. The" platform has a short leg a at each corner. The square B rests at its ends upon the platform, with its right-angled corner somewhat raised in order to show ed the square to better advantage by making it more prominent. This elevation of the square is attained by upright flanges b, extending from the edges of the square to the platform.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is- The design for a charm, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
BENJAMIN THOMAS SELMAN. Witnesses:
CALEB DEAN, J NO. W. A. VARDAMAN.
