DESIGN FOR A CYLINDER-LENS.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of DeSign N0. 35,769, dated February 25, 1902.
Application filed June 28, 1901; Serial No. 66,434- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. WELLS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Southbridge, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cylinder-Lenses, of which the following is the specification, reference being had to the drawing forming a part thereof.
My invention relates to cylinder-lens such as is used in oculists lens-cases and generally known and designated as cylinder-lens.
Referring to the drawing Figure 1 shows in perspective view a cylinder-lens embodying my design. Fig. 2 shows an edge view of the cylinder-lens shown by Fig. 1.
In the accompanying drawing, A represents a cylinder-lens having its surface a formed on the curve of a cylinder. The cylindrical surface at of the lens has two parallel broken lines a at, as shown, the said broken lines be ing located near the opposite edges or portions thereofand ata distance from said edges; On one surface of the lens between the lines a arrow=heads b are formed to denote the central line or axis of the lens.
The leading or material feature of my de* sign consists of a lens having a cylindrical surface and two broken lines arranged near opposite edges or portions of the lens and parallel to each other.
What I claim is-=- The design fora lens substantially as shown and described.
