DESIGN FOR A LENS FOR GRATINGS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,491, dated August 3, 1897.

To all whom it may (POIZGlIT-t:
Beit known that I, JACOB JAtOBS,()f Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, and in the State of New York, have invented a certain new and original Design for Lens for Illuminatin g-Gratingzs; and I do hereby deela re that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the aceompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a lens embodying, my design, and Fig. 2 a cross-section of the same.
Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures.
The object of myinvention is to provide a 3 design for lenses for illuniinatinggratings; and to this end said invention consists in the design for a lens, substantially as hereinafter set forth. I
The leading feature of my design consists of a platejroin one side of which projects parallel ribs, each of whieh is triangular in erossl section, with its converging sides both in elined, and one having both of such sides plane or substantially plane and the other having one of such sides rounded eonvexly. The lens is in the form of a plate A, from the face of which projects two straight parallel ribs 13 and C, that. are triangular in crossseetion, the former having both sides straight and inclined relative to the plate A, and the rib C having one side straight and inclined and the opposite side curved eonvexly.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is The design for a lens, substantially as set forth.
