UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
\VILLIAM BAYHOUSE, OF BOISE, IDAHO.
DESIGN FOR A HEEL-PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,630, dated September 7, 1897.
Application filed May ll 1897. Serial No. 636,567. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom [It may cancer/t:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM BAYnoUsE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boise, in the county of Ada and State of Idaho, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Heel-Plates; and I do doclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention has relation to a new and original design for heel-plates for shoes; and it consists of a heel'plate of the configuration and ornamentation shown in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective View of the heelplate, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
The leading features of my design consist in a heel-plate having a base portion 1, one edge of which is curved from a to b on the are of a small circle and from b to c on the arc of a greater circle, the other edge of which is curved inwardly from d to e, outwardly from e to f, and thence inwardly again on the greater are of a circle from f to g. The outer edge of the base-plate has projecting upwardly therefrom a flange 2, which has a eurvature corresponding to that of the outer edge of the base-piece. Holes 3, 4, and 5 are formed in the plate, as shown.
It will be observed that the base portion 1 has a curved or bulging portion 6 fand that the flange 2 extends upward at right angles to said base portion, that the ends of the flange are vertical or squarely out, that the plan view of the design is somewhat in the form of a simitar, and that the flange is perforated near its ends and the base portion near the center.
What I claim is The design for a heel-plate for boots and shoes as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
\VILLIAH BAYIIOUSE.
