WITNES SE5 lmo wnsMmGYon o c UNITED STATES HENRY PAAR,
DESIGN FOR A CANTON, OHIO.
HORSESHOE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,414, dated September 27, 1898.
Application filed August 12, 1898. Serial No. 688,453. Term of patent 3! years.
To (0Z5 1071,0122, it may concern:
lie it known that I, HENRY PAAR, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Canton, Stark county, Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Horseshoe, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a view showing the top of the shoe. Fig. 3 is a view showing a portion of one of the heel ends of the shoe.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or characteristic feature of my design consists of the flange 1, formed upon the outer edge of the shoe-body 2, and the inward-turned flange 3, which flanges are formed as shown.
The horizontal flange 3 is of the same width, or substantially so, from the points 4 to the points 5, and intermediate the points 5 the width of the flange is increased, as shown in the drawings, the widest portion of the flange being at the point 0 or at the longitudinal center of the shoe.
The toe of the shoe is provided with the projection 7, which is located substantially as shown and is of the form illustrated in the drawings.
At the heel ends of the shoe are located the vertical flanges 8 and the horizontal flanges 9, the vertical flanges 8 being curved at their inner ends, as illustrated. The body 5] is formed of considerable width, as illustrated in the drawings, and, as shown, it consists of a thin plate, the top or upper side of which is plain, as illustrated.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a horseshoe as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my nameiu the presence of two witnesses.
HENRY IAAR.
