INVENTEIP ATTEET.
C/u %m 1141 .E'JY ATTDHNEY UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES WHITTINGHAM, OF CLEVELAND, OlllO.
DESIGN FOR A GAS-HEATER.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES Wnrr'rme- HAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and prodnceda new and original Design for Gas-Heaters, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawing, showing a part thereof.
The single figure of the drawing illustrates my design which is comprised in the heater as an entirety.
A is the body of the heater; B the base, and C the top. The body A is cylindrical in general contour from end to end, and has beads -2 at intervals extending horizon tally around it, and a belt or belts of openings 3- grouped to form an ornamental circle around the body.
The base B is circular horizontally, and its top surface inclines at less than forty-five degrees in almost a perfectly straight line from the light ornamental border 6 about the top of the base to the lower and outer edge 7- thereof. The legs D are set at a decided inclination to a vertical plane and have flutes -9 longitudinally running into corresponding ornamentations 10- on the base just above the legs. The surface of the base between the legs and the ornamentations 10- is unfignred.
The top 0 of the heater has acrown l2 at its center surrounded by a scalloped ring 13- set apart somewhat from its base, and an ornamental nearly fiat border 14- extends outwardly from this ring some considerable distance beyond the body A and terminates in a rim --15-. What may be termed substantially leaf shaped projections 16- at infrequent intervals overhang and extend down below the rim -15- and two of these projections show at the sides respectively in a directly front view of the heater. The crown 12- is surmounted by a decorative comb 17, resting on a short stem and pedestal which give it relief and individuality.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a gas heater substantially as herein shown and described,
CHARLES WHI'ITINGHAM.
