DESIGN FOR A WALL-FIXTURE FOR COUNTERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,162, dated January 24, 1893.
Application filed December 27, 1892. Serial 110.456, 183. Term of patent 3% years,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, DAVID ROTHSUHILI), a citizen of the United States, and a rcsidentof (lincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and useful Design for XVall-Fixtu res for Counters, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is a new and original design fora wall fixture for counters, the leading features of which are the entablature, the pedestal or side board portion and the column supporting the entablature as shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of one half of the wall fixture embodying my design, and Fig. 2 an end elevation of the same.
The side board or closet portion A has a forwardly projecting drawer portion A surmounted by a top A which projects over the drawer portion, and the portion underneath the top is framed round with a plain molding, while the lower edge is framed with an enriched bead a. The upper portion is supported by pilasters a, of which there are four, two near each end. The drawer portion above these pilasters and above the lower bead portion has a rectangular sunk panel ornamented with carving. The pilasters have their lower portions or plinths formed to correspond with plinth a of the side-board, above which is a molding that corresponds to the molded upper portion of the pilasterplinth. The shaft of the pilasters is a fluted column. The capital above the carved neck is on the Ionic order and above the abacus is a bracket a in the form of a scroll. The architrave of the entablature is formed of a eongeries of moldings, the center one of which is a plain fillet b, which is corbelled by an enriched ovolo molding and below it a cavetto which rests upon the upper members of the capital C. The upper molding of the architrave is a fillet and cavetto set back of the projecting fillet b. The cornice l) is composed of a round head or molding, below which is a fillet and underneath the fillet an ovolo. The cornice is corbelled by dentals (Z and the fillet below them, the upper portions of the ovolo being formed in the fillet above the main ovolo molding. The frieze E has rectangular pilasters or blocks upon each of the capitals and the faces of these are carved raised panels. The intervening spaces between these panels are rectangular frames inclosing raised bevel edged reflecting panels 6. The eutablature is supported by four columns. The end ones 0' have plain shafts while the intermediate ones 0 have the lower portions of the shaft fluted and a bead molding above and below the fluted portion, and the upper portion of the shaft enriched with an entwining vine raised upon it. The neck of the capital is a carved head. The capitals C are all carved and ornamented alike. The back portion of the fixture, below the entablature and between the columns C and G has an arched frame within which is set a bevel edged mirror F. Above the arch, on each side, are raised spandrels f, which have a carved vine upon them. The back, between the columns C has a heavy rectangular molded frame inclosing the mirror F. The doors of the closet portion have arched frame moldings surrounding raised figured panels and carved spandrels upon the side above the arches, the center portion being formed in heavy rectangular panels with triangular spandrels.
What I claim is A design for wall fixture for counters, substantially as shown and described.
