ROBERT F. MEISSNER, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO \V. \V. KIMBALL COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A CABINET-ORGAN CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,069, dated July 10, 1883.
Application filed March 5, 1853. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
ie it known that 1, ROBERT F. Minssxmc, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for UabinetOrgan Cases. of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying engraving, forming part thereof, wherein is shown a perspective view of my newly-designed case.
For the details of my invention reference is made to the accompanying drawing or illustration, wherein all its parts are clearly shown.
The main feature of the top of this case is the center panel, A, having a rounded top, a, and engraved lines a" upon its body. Above each upper corner are small panels a in relief. The cornice A is surmounted by corner projections, a, and a center ornament, a, and underneath it is aline of frieze-work, u At each side of the panel A are pilasters A".
The upper side portions, B, of the back are lower than the center portion, and where they join such center portion are cut in irregular curved lines, as at b, and are relieved upon their faces by engraved horizontal. lines D.
At b" are square corner-posts, terminating in finials b and at the ends are spindle-railings b, the front posts whereof, b are of turned work.
Below the top shelf, 0, of the instrument is the music-rack 0, formed with a center panel, 0, ornamented with engraved lines, as shown. The side pilasters, G are inclined to agree substantially with the inclination of the rack (3'. At either side are filigree or open-work panels C, of peculiar design, and above them are dentil courses 0. At the outside corners are half-round ornamented posts (1 Below the posts C and extending forward, are balustrade ornaments C the front post whereof is finished with a finial, e.
The front of the keyslip I) is formed of filigree-work of the character indicated in the cut, and the support D of the same is fronted with longitudinal molded lines, as likewise i11- divided.
The side brackets, E, of the lower case are paneled upon their upper surfaces, are adorned and cut to the lines shown upon their front faces, and upon the sides are decorated, as also represented.
The side I" of the case is provided with molded linesj', as is also the pilaster F.
The front of the use under the key-board support is divided intopanels G, each of which is engraved with a fanciful design, 9. Below the center panels are the treadles H, and either side of these are horizontal triplet panels H, the main member of which is provided with buttons. At the side of the treadles arebrack ets ll.
