DESIGN FOR A DISH.
Application filed December 23, 1889. Serial No.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL POUYAT, a citizen of France, residing at Limoges, in the Department of Haute-Vienne, France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Dishes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a profile View of a soup-tureen or covered dish. Fig. 2 is a face view of a cover. Fig. 3 is the face View of a platter or deep dish. Fig. 4 is the face view of a plate, these four drawings being deemed necessary to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in having seven curved and spreading rays A A A A start from the top of the dish and pass over the four corners, ending at the base of the dish.
The form of the soup-tureen or covered dish,Fig. 1, isoval. From thetop of the cover near where the ends of the handle join the piece a set of seven curved and spreading rays A A A A follow the dish over each of the four corners and down the body of the dish to its base. The handles B B B, as more clearly shown in Fig. 2, are twisted acanthus leaves. At the extremities of the handle and 334,794. Term of patent, 14 years. Registered in France October 14. 1889,1l0-Z79.

The platters or deep dishes, Fig. 3, are also of oval form; but the handles B B are in relief and have the same decoration as the soup-turcen or covered dish. At the four corners, passing down from the outside circumference toward the center or basin of the dish, are seven curved and spreading rays AA A A.
The plates, Fig. 4, are round, and from the center of the basin D start out in three directions seven curved and spreading rays, which end at the outside circumference E, where they give the plate a scalloped ap pearance.
\Vhat I claim is 1. The design for dishes herein shown and described.
52. In the design for dishes herein shown and described, the handles consisting of a representation of acanthus-leaves, and at the extremities of the handles where they join the piece a bouquet of Marguerites, leaves,
buds, and flowers.
