SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,274, dated August 20, 1889.

Application filed January 5, 1889.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GHARLES EDWARD IIAVILAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Limoges, Republic of France, have invented and prod need a certain new and original Design for Dishes, fully described and represented in the following specification and the accompanying illustration, forming a part of the same.

In the accompanying illustration, Figure 1 is an end View of a covered dish embodying the design, and Fig. 2 a perspective View of the same.

The following are theleadiug features of the design: The sides a and ends I) of the dish-body are plain and are curved outward slightly, so as to give a slightly oval or rounded term to the upper edge of the body. The corners of the body are more rounded and are corrugated vertically, as shown at 2, so as to give the upper edge of the body a scalloped form at the corners. The corrugations at the corners of the body vanish as they approach the base of the body.

The cover is somewhat dome-shaped, and in outline corresponds substantially to the out line of the top of the body, its sides 0 and ends d being plain and slightly curved outward and its corners rounded, so as to give a somewhat oval or rounded form to the cover. The corners of the cover ar'e also scalloped to correspond to the scalloped outline of the corners of the body. The cover is provided with a handle f rep resenting a gnarled and twist-ed branch of conventional form, the ends of which unite with the cover and extend along the top of the cover, with some of the twigs and leaves more or less in relief, as indicated at G.

The dish-body is also provided with handles 9 of similar form, the ends of which unite with the body, while the central port-ions curve outward and upward.
