DESIGN FOR AN UNDERWAIST.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,424, dated September 27, 1898.
Application filed August 16, 1898. Serial No. 688,723. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Beit known that I, CHARLES R. DE BEvoIsE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, (Flushing,) in the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Underwaist, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this design is to provide a novel underwaist which presents an ornamental, characteristic, and distinguishing appearance to the eye.
The leading feature of the design is an un derwaist having circular lines opposite each other above its upper edge, vertical stripes or lines running from the circular lines to the lower edge of the waist, horizontal bands extending laterally from the lower end portions of the vertical stripes or lines, and eyes or perforations adjacent to said horizontal bands.
The design is illustrated by the accompanying drawing, in which the figure is a plan View of the underwaist.
By reference to the drawing it will be seen that the waist is provided with a central depression, as at 2, in its upper edge, a lower edge 3, circular lines l opposite each other and extending above the upper edge of the waist, vertical stripes or lines 5, running from the circular lines 4: to the lower edge 3, horizontal bands 8, extending laterally from the lower end portions of the Vertical stripes or lines, and eyes or perforations 7 adjacent to the horizontal bands.
The underwaist possessing the characteristics described and shown is ornamental and presents a handsome and distinguishing appearance.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for an n nderwaist, substantially as shown and described.
