To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, EMIL POUYAT, a citizen of France, residing at Limoges, in partment of HauteVienne, France havevented and produced a new and origi nefl'Eesign for Dishes, of which the following'iiafipecificw tion, reference being had to thegu companying drawings, forming a part'thereof.

Figure 1 represents the side view of a souptureen or covered dish showing my design. Fig. E. is a face view of a cover; F' 3, the face view of aplatterordeep dish; 1g. 4, the face view of a plate, these four views being deemed necessary to fully illustrate. m y design.

The leading feature of my design consists of a band A, passing around the dish traversed by sectional rays, which form large and small inclosnres.

The form of the soup-tureen or covered dish, Fig. 1, is square. On the cover, Fig. 2, of the soup-tureen' or covered dish there is a depression B, pronounced enough to aid in forming the handle, of the cover, which is made to simulate twisted ribbon. At either end, where the handle joins the piece, there is attached a spray of leaves and flowers, forming an ornamental design C C. At one centimeter from the edge of all the covered or deep dishes 2. band A passes around the dish or cover. the dish or cover one large and two small inclosures E E E. These same rays and inc'losures, only enlarged and elongated, are reproduced on the body of the soup-tureen or covered dish and follow the shape to its base. The handles on the ends of the soup-tureen or covered dish have no depressions under them, but otherwise are formed exactly the same as the handles on the covers.

The platters and deep dishes, Fig. 3, are 00- tagonal in shape. Two sides are greatly elongated and slightly curved. At either end of the platter or deep dish there is a handle in relief formed after the design of the handle of the stmp-tureen or covered dish. The platters and deep dishes have the six rays at the four corners,and the large and small inclosures, as described above, in the soup-tureen or covered dish.

The plates, Fig. 4, are twelve-sided and have the same rays; but the inclosures are all of the same size-that is to say, six sets of rays H II II II ll II with six inclosures J .T J J J J. The line of the inner circumference K conforms to the outer circumference L.
