DESIGN FOR A DISH.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GUsTAvE DEMARTIAL, a citizen of France, residing at Limoges, in the Department of Haute-Vienne, Republic of France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Dishes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 represents the side view of a soup tureen. Fig. 2 is the sideview of acovered dish. Fig. 3 is the face View of a cover. Fig. 4 is the face view of a platter or deep dish. Fig.
'5 is the face View of a plate, these five views being deemed necessary to fully illustrate my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in the low oval form of the dishes having undulatin g edges divided into larger and smaller inclosures with handles representing bunches or sprays of chrysanthemum leaves and flowers.
The form of the soup-tureen and covered dish, Figs. 1 and 2, is low and oval.
The handles A A A represent a raised bunch or spray of chrysanthemum leaves and flowers, the stems being bound by a ribbon with streamers extending over the side of the dish.
Fig. 3 represents a face view ofthe cover,
which has undulating edges, giving also a full view of the handle A, which represents a bunch or spray of chrysanthemum leaves and flowers, as above described.
Beneath the handle on the top of the cover there is a slight depression B.
The platter or deep dish, Fig. 4, is also oval, 1
the circumference is undulating, and is divided intoeight inclosurestwo large D D,
four small 0 C O O, and two medium E E. At each end of the platter or deep dish there is a handle in relief of the same design as the handles on the soup-tureen or covered dish, above described.
Fig. 5 represents the plates,which are round with scalloped edges divided into eight inclosuresfour large F F F F and four small G G G G. I
. What I claim is 1. The design for dishes, substantially as herein shown and described.
2. In the design for dishes herein shown and described, the handles representing bunches -0r sprays of chrysanthemum leaves and flowers. I
