DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
EiPECIPICATION forming part of Design No.18,232, dated April 3, 1888.
Application filed January 26, 1888.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES L. FoLsoM, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original 5 Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be Io worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consistsin the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view :5 of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of a number of coral-like figures disposed irregularly over the surface of the carpet. These figures vary somewhat in form and size.
Figure A is circular in character, and has a central solid portion from which corallike Serial No. 262,070. Term of patent 33 years.

The design for carpets, consisting of the design substantially as shown.
