Be it known that I, IIERMAN IHLENBURG,

of the city and county of Philadelphia, Penn- 5 sylvania, have inven ted and produced a new Design fora Font of lrinting-Iype, of which the following is a specification. The nature of the design is in the accompanying clearly shown typographic impression,
IO to which reference is made; and it consists of an unshaded letter, as
shown. The heavy trian gular terminations are found at the top and bottom of the up-and-down por B, I). E, l, H, I, K, L, M, N, 15 \V, X, Y. and Z. The cross-l tions of the A, I, R, T, U, V, ines of the A and II are ornamented centrally by a heavy dot. The C is formed of the heavy curved portion, followed by the light curved line be low, and terminating in the heavy triangular upon the right. The lower portion of the O is ornamented by the scroll-like tignre, followed by a curved line extended beyond the letter. The tail of the (3 consists of a curved line flattened out, having the heavy dot termination upon the left. In connection with the letters are shown a series of nine ornamental at'fixes, and reference is made to the typographicimpression showing their exact configuration.
