DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,475, dated December 12, 1882.
Application filed October 21, 1882. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHNGRAHAM, (assignor to MAGKELLAR, Smrrns 8; JORDAN, of the city of Chicago and county of Cook, Illinois,
5 have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a specification.
The nature of my design is clearly shown in the accompanying typographic impression,
[O to which reference is made; and it consists ot'a condensed ornamented letter shaded upon the right and bottom by a series of light lines following the configuration of the letter. The letters, with the exception of the H, I, J, K, L,
1 5 M, N, U, V, W, X, and Y, are ornamented about centrally in the upper portion by the small heavy dot. With the exception of the B, D,O, and Q, the up-and-down portions of the letters are ornamented by the square figures placed 20 transversely, and all the letters of the font are provided with flourishes extended to form a heavy triangular figure, which flourishes are found upon the left hand of the up-and-down portion of the B, D, E, P, It, and upon both the right hand and left hand of theup-and-down 25 portion of the rest of the letters. The heavy dot ornament occurs about centrally in the lower portions of the B, (J, D, E, G, L, 0, U, V, and Z.
The character of the design is preserved in 0 the numerals, save that-the flourishes are omitted.
Having now set forth my invention, I claim as new- The design for a font of printing-type, sub 5 stantially as shown and described.
