DESIGN FOR A FIRE-PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,30'7,da.ted September 19, 1882.
Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM TWEEDDALE, ol Brooklyn, in the State of New York, have invented a Design for Fire-Place and Grate,`
of which the following is a specification.
This design relates to the fender, the fireplace l'rame, and the fuel-holder or grate, the ornamentation on all of these having reference to the production of certain artistic effect.
The wheel-patterns that form the prominent; ornaments ofthe fender and grate-frame are combined with bars and scrolls, as shown. The bars a. b c and basedand the postseform the open-work ofthe fender. The Wheel ornaments h are introduced between the bars b c. The scroll and diagonal bar ornaments g are beneath the bar a at the sides of the posts e. Between the base d and bar c there are the wheel ornamentsf, the diagonal har and leatiet ornaments k, and the round rails i, as shown.
The fire-place frame has arch molded borders l, sunk-surface wheel ornaments n, and diagonal pointed ornaments 0.
The grate-frame or fuel-holder has the front bar, p, scalloped at the lower edges, an arched back plate, with scroll and leaflet ornaments 1*, as shown.
The fender-piece, grate, and fire-place frame compose a complete artistic design for a tireplace.
I claim as my inventionl. The design ofthe fender-piece, consisting ofthe bars a b c and base d, posts e, wheel ornaments kf, leaiiet and bar ornaments k, and rails i, substantially as shown.
2. The design ot' the fire-place frame, consisting ofthe arched molded border l, wheel ornaments u, and diagonal pointed ornaments o, substantially as shown.
3. The design of the grateframe, consisting of the bars p, with scalloped edges. the arched back plate, with scroll and leaflet ornaments, as represented.
