DESIGN FOR A PORTABLE FIRE-PLACE GRATE.

To all whom. it may concern.-
Be it known that we, EDWARD L. (JALELY and JOSEPH A. READ, citizens of the United States, and residents at Philadelphia, Penn- 5 sylvania, have invented a certain new and original Design for a Fire-Plate Grate, of which the following is a specification.
Our design for a fire-place grate is fully shown in the accompanying photographic [o illustration.
The leading features of the design are the ornamental vertical bars on the front, back, and side plates, and the ornamental scrollwork on the back and side plates below said 15 bars. On the lower half of the back plate is a. quadrangular panel with plain border-lines with scalloped corners, and on this panel is a central foliated ornament, from which extend two plain scrolls and two ornamental floral 2o scrolls. Above the panel are a series of vert-ieal bars, forming open-work, and on each of these bars are ornamental designs and a central rosette.
The design of the side-plate panels and bars 2 5 is in keeping with those of the back plate.
The design of the front plate is composed of top and bottom longitudinal barsconnected together by ornamental vertical bars with central rosettes and other ornamentation of the same general character as the bars of the 30 back plate.
We claim- 1. In a design for s fire-place grate, the design for theback plate, consisting of the quadrangular foliated and scroll paneLwith a series 3 5 of vertical figured bars above said panel, substsntially as described, and as shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
2. In a design for a. fire-place grate, the design for the front plate, consisting of a series 40 of vertical figured bars, substantially as described, and as shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
3. The design for a lire-place grate, substantially as described, and as shown in the 5 accompanying photographic illustration.
