UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EDWARD L. CALELY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO GILBERT COMES, JOHN BJUVDEN, AND JOHN ll. BAVVDEN, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A PORTABLE FIRE-PLACE GRATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,895, dated February 5, 1889.
Application filed January 9, 1889 Serinl No. 295,383. Term of patent 7 your.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EDWARD L. CALELY, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for a Portable Fire- Plaee Grate, of which the following is a. specifloat-ion.
My design fora fire-place grate is fully shown in the accompanying photographic illustration.
The design of the back and side plates is of a floral character, and the design of the front plate is in imitation of lattice-work. In the center of the back plate is a foliated scroll surrounded by a plain quadrangular borderline with scalloped corners. Above and below the border are lines formed of small dashes. Surrounding the panel thus formed is a border composed of leaves and flowers, and on each side of the small panel, inside the outer border, is a scroll design.
The designs of the side plates are of similar character to those of the back plate.
The design of the front plate is composed of a series of longitudinal and vertical bars, forming a series of quadrangular spaces.
I claim The design for a fire-place grate, substantially as described, and as shown in and by the accompanying photographic illustration.
In testimony whereof Ihave signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
EDWARD L. GALELY.
