DESlGN FOR A FIRE-PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,447, dated November 21, 1882,

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM G. PEET, of Jersey City, in the State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and ornamental Design 5 for Fire-Places, of which the following is a.
specification.
In this design the grate-frame, the fender, and the andirons are adapted to the production as a whole of a certain artistic effect.
The accompanying engraving represents my said design.
The fender-piece has base-bars a, beveled on the upper edges, vertical posts b, a top rail, 0, and acorn ornaments d. The border of the fender is ornamented with circles, with scroll ornaments, as at i, and round leaflet and stem ornaments, as at k. The fire-place frame is ornamented with the circles with leaflet ornaments ksimilar to those on the fender. There is also a central circular ornament like the ornament i. There are catharine-wheel ornaments l at the angles of the grate-frame, star-shaped ornaments at n n, and segmental and scroll ornaments. at o 0, as represented, and there are head ornaments at p p. The andironsareornamen ted with a sunflower head, q, wing leaves at 1', me nd stems s, and a. sq nare panel with owl and flower ornaments at t.
1 claim as my invention- 1. The design ofthe fire-place frame, having the circular ornaments i k l, star ornaments n, and segment and scroll ornaments o, substantially as described and represented.
2. The design of the fender, having the bars a 0, posts b,and ornaments d, k, and i, substsn- 5 tinlly as described and represented.
3. The design of the andirons, consisting of the sunflower heads q round stems s, wing leaflets r, and panel 15, substantially as represented.
