DESIGN FOR A FIRE-PLACE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,445, dated November 21 1882,
Application filed October 17, 1882. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM C. PEET, of Jersey City, in the State of New Jersey, have invented acertain new and ornamental Design for Fire-Places, of which the following is a specification.
- My design is shown in the annexed engravmg.
In this design the fire-place, the frame, and the fender are ali made with reference to the production of a peculiar artistic effect which results from the piain parallel lines with ornaments at the angles and ends of the parts. The fender-frame has posts a a, base-bars b, and rails c, ornamented with the conical orna' ments d at the tops and the circular leaflet rosettes e f at the junction of some of the posts and base-bar. The fire-place frame 8 is plain, with beveled edges, and rosette ornaments f at the angles. The fire-place is composed of bars h h, ornamented with urn-shaped ends k, and the front supports are prismatic with vaseshaped ornaments lat the top, round beads and covers 11 at the bottom, and carved legs 0. These ornamental parts on the fender, fire 2 5 place, and frame compose as a whole a plain unique design.
I claim as my invention-- 1. The design of the fender, consisting of the posts, rails, and bars ornamented with the 0 conical heads (1 to the posts and the circularrosette ornaments, substantially as represented.
2. The design of the fire-place frame, having beveled edges and circular-rosette orna- 5 meats, substantially as represented.
3. The design of the fire-place, composed of the bars h, with urn-shaped end ornaments, the prismatic supports and vase ornaments I, and curved legs, substantially as represented. 40
