Description
本發明係關於一種光纖外殼,且更特定言之,係關於一種具有電纜放出的光纖外殼。
由於對電信的要求提高了,光纖網路正在向越來越多的區域延伸。在諸如多個住宅單元、公寓大樓、共管式公寓、商務區等之類的場所中,光纖外殼係用於提供一至該光纖網路的用戶存取點。這些光纖外殼經由連接至一網路集線器的用戶電纜而連接至該光纖網路。然而,在該光纖外殼與該網路集線器之間所需的用戶電纜之長度隨該光纖外殼相對於該網路集線器之位置而改變。因此,需要一能夠有效管理變化用戶電纜之長度的光纖外殼。
本發明之一態樣係關於一種用於圍封光纖連接的光纖外殼總成。該光纖外殼總成包含一具有一內部區域的外罩,及一設置在該外罩的內部區域中之軸承座。一捲線軸係與該軸承座連接地接合,使該捲線軸選擇性地在該外罩內旋轉。一終端模組係位於該捲線軸上,使該終端模組與該捲線軸一致旋轉。
本發明之另一態樣係關於一種自一光纖外殼放出一光纖電纜之方法。該方法包含將一捲線軸圍繞該光纖外殼之一外罩之一軸旋轉,該捲線軸具有一圍繞該捲線軸之一纏繞部分所盤繞的用戶電纜,直至放出一所需的用戶電纜長度。該捲線軸係位於該光纖外殼之一內部區域中,且一終端模組係位於該捲線軸上。
將在接下去的描述中闡述多種額外態樣的變化。此等態樣可關於個別特徵及特徵之結合。將瞭解的是,前述之大體描述及以下的詳細描述僅係例示性的及解釋性的,且對於在此揭示的實施例所基於的寬泛的概念係非限制性的。
現將詳細參考闡釋於所附圖式中之本發明的例示性態樣。在可能的情形下,相同的參考數字係用於指全部圖式中相同的或類似的結構。
現參考圖1,其顯示一在一場所13(例如個人住所、公寓大樓、共管式公寓、商務區等等)中之通常標示為11的光纖網路之示意代表。該光纖網路11包含一來自一中央交換局(未顯示)之饋送電纜15。該饋送電纜15進入一具有一個或多個光學分離器(例如,1對8光學分離器、1對16光學分離器,或1對32光學分離器)的饋送電纜輸入位置17(例如,一光纖分佈集線器、一網路介面裝置等等),該等光學分離器產生許多個別光纖。在本實施例中,且僅經由舉例,該光纖分佈集線器17係位於該場所13之一較低高度19上。在該場所13中的每一單元包含一通常標示為21的光纖外殼,一用戶電纜22從各個光纖外殼21延伸至該光纖分佈集線器17。延伸在該光纖分佈集線器17與該光纖外殼21之間的該用戶電纜22通常包含多個光纖。
現參考圖2至5,將描述該光纖外殼21。該光纖外殼21包含一通常標示為23的外罩,其具有一蓋子25。
該外罩23通常包含一底部27、一第一側壁29及一相對設置的第二側壁31。該第一及第二側壁29、31從該底部27向外延伸,使該底部27與該第一及第二側壁29、31共同定義一內部區域33。在本實施例中,該蓋子25係與一側壁35鉸接地接合,該側壁35係連接至該底部27與該第一及第二側壁29、31。然而,將瞭解的是,本揭示之範圍不限於該蓋子25係鉸接地接合該側壁35。
一通常標示為37的捲線軸係位於該光纖外殼21的內部區域33中。該捲線軸37包含一纏繞部分39,用戶電纜22係盤繞該纏繞部分39(示意地顯示在圖1中)。該捲線軸37進一步包含一軸端部41。

現參考圖3-5,該捲線軸37之軸端部41進一步定義一鬆弛儲存區域59。該鬆弛儲存區域59包含一位於該捲線軸37之軸端部41上的電纜管理線軸61。該電纜管理線軸61係按所需尺寸製作,使該電纜管理線軸61之一外徑大於該等光纖之最小彎曲半徑,以便避免在儲存期間對該等光纖的衰減破壞。

現參考圖5,該光纖外殼21進一步包含一通常標示為71的軸承座。在本實施例中,該軸承座71係位於該外罩23的底部27上。該軸承座71之一外表面73適於一軸承75(如交叉影線所示)。在本實施例中,該軸承75係一滾針軸承。然而,將瞭解本發明之範圍不限於該軸承75係一滾針軸承,因為該軸承75亦可包含一軸承襯、低摩擦塗層等等。
在一實施例中,該軸承75係與該捲線軸37之一中心孔之一內徑接合。在另一實施例中,一旋轉滑動軸承係形成於該軸承座71之外表面73與該捲線軸37之中心孔的內徑之間。在此實施例中,該軸承座71的外徑係按一定尺寸製作,以裝配在該纏繞部分39之一中心孔的一內徑內。該軸承座71與該捲線軸37之纏繞部分39的接合允許該捲線軸37繞著該軸承座71之中心軸77旋轉。
現參考圖1及5,包含多個光纖的該用戶電纜22係圍繞該捲線軸37之纏繞部分39予以盤繞。為防護該用戶電纜22免受因該用戶電纜22盤繞該纏繞部分39所導致的衰減,該捲線軸37具有一外周邊表面,該表面具有一大於電纜22之最小彎曲半徑之半徑。該用戶電纜22包含一具有若干連接端部之第一端部,該等連接端部係插入穿過該電纜通道63並與該等轉接器401之該等第一端部413連接地接合。該用戶電纜22之一第二端部經配置以與該光纖分佈集線器17連接。然而,如圖1所示,該場所13中之各個光纖外殼21與該光纖分佈集線器17之間所需的該用戶電纜22之長度隨著每一光纖外殼21相對於該光纖分佈集線器17之位置而變化。
現將描述一種安裝並使用該光纖外殼21以解釋該光纖外殼21與該光纖分佈集線器17之間所需的用戶電纜22之變化的長度。該光纖外殼21藉由作為該用戶電纜22之一儲存位置及選擇性地放出該用戶電纜22之一所需長度而提供雙重功能。
用戶電纜22之一第一長度藉由圍繞該捲線軸37盤繞用戶電纜22的長度係儲存在該光纖外殼21中。用戶電纜22之第一長度包含一安裝長度,該長度係足夠長以從該外殼28之安裝位置延伸到該光纖分佈集線器17;及一超出的長度,其係在該安裝長度已被放出之後仍在該捲線軸37上的用戶電纜22之長度。在一實施例中,該第一長度係大於或等於約100英尺。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係大於或等於約200英尺。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係大於或等於約300英尺。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係大於或等於約400英尺。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係大於或等於約500英尺。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係在約100至約2,000英尺的範圍內。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係在約100至約1,500英尺的範圍內。在另一實施例中,用戶電纜22之該第一長度係在約500至約1,500英尺的範圍內。在一較佳實施例中,圍繞該捲線軸37所盤繞的用戶電纜22之該第一長度係在100至500英尺的範圍內。
在一實施例中,用戶電纜22之一第二長度或該超出的長度在用戶電纜22之該第一長度已被放出後係圍繞該捲線軸37予以儲存。若用戶電纜22之該第一長度係大於用戶電纜22之安裝長度,則該第二長度或超出的長度係圍繞該捲線軸37予以儲存。
該光纖外殼21之第二功能包括該用戶電纜22之選擇性放出。在該捲線軸37安裝至該軸承座71,該用戶電纜22之該第一端部與該等轉接器401之該等前側413連接地接合且該輸出的光纖係與該等轉接器401脫離之情形下,該用戶電纜22可穿過設置在該第一及第二側壁29、31中的光纖埠79予以放出。該用戶電纜22藉由相對於該外罩23繞著該軸承座71之中心軸77選擇性地旋轉該捲線軸37而放出該光纖外殼21外。由於該終端模組45係設置在該捲線軸37之該軸端部41上,所以相對於該外殼23之該捲線軸37之選擇性旋轉導致該終端模組45之選擇性旋轉。由於該終端模組45與該捲線軸37整體旋轉或與該捲線軸37一致旋轉,所以該用戶電纜22之該第二端部可在該用戶電纜22之第一端部不被拉出在該終端模組45外之情形下予以放出。
一旦用戶電纜22之所需長度已被放出,該捲線軸37之旋轉停止。此時,該捲線軸37之位置可予以固定,使其不相對於該外罩23旋轉。在一實施例中,一銷係插入穿過該捲線軸37之該軸端部41中的一開口並穿過一在該外罩23之底部27中的相應開口,以固定該捲線軸37相對於該外罩23之位置。然而,將瞭解本發明之範圍不限於使用銷以固定該捲線軸37相對於外罩23之位置。
現將描述從該光纖外殼21選擇性放出用戶電纜22之另一種方法。在該光纖外殼21定位在該光纖分佈集線器17附近之情形下,該用戶電纜22之該第二端部係從該捲線軸37鬆開。在一實施例中,該第二端部視情況連接至該光纖分佈集線器17。在該用戶電纜22之該第二端部視情況連接至該光纖分佈集線器17及該用戶電纜22之該第一端部與該終端模組45連接地接合之情形下,該光纖外殼21從該光纖分佈集線器17上移走。在一實施例中,該光纖外殼21藉由一安裝人員從該光纖分佈集線器17上移走。在另一實施例中,該光纖外殼21以一輪式車(例如,台車、四輪車等等)從該光纖分佈集線器17上移走。在一較佳實施例中,該光纖外殼在運輸期間係設置在一封裝外殼(例如,一盒)中。由於該光纖外殼21係從該光纖分佈集線器17上移走,所以該用戶電纜22從該捲線軸37鬆開,導致該捲線軸37在該外罩23之內部區域33中旋轉,而該外罩23係位於該封裝外殼中。當該光纖外殼21已移到其安裝位置時,該光纖外殼21從該封裝外殼移除,安裝至該安裝位置。該捲線軸37可固定在相對於該外罩23之適當位置,以防止該捲線軸37之意外旋轉。

Claims (16)

- 一種用於提供光纖連接之光纖總成,包含:一底部;一光纖電纜,其具有複數個光纖,該光纖電纜包含一第一部分及一第二部分,於該第一部分中,該等光纖全體被容置在一護套中,於該第二部分中,該等光纖被分開成具有連接端部的個別光纖,該光纖電纜之該第一部分可自該外罩之該內部被放出;一電纜管理及連接總成,其包含:一第一纏繞位置,該光纖電纜之該第一部分在該第一纏繞位置處盤繞;一第二纏繞位置,係與該第一纏繞位置相分離, 該光纖電纜之該第二部分係在該第二纏繞位置被盤繞;及複數個光纖轉接器,其接收該等個別光纖之該等連接端部;其中該電纜管理及連接總成之一整體係繞著一旋轉軸旋轉以允許該光纖電纜之該第一部分自該外罩之該內部被放出。
