Dokonano cennego spostrzezenia, iz or¬ ganizmy roslinne (w mysl Syllabusu En¬ glert) zawieraja hormony, które u zwie¬ rzat tak normalnych, jak i kastrowanych moga wywolac podobne zmiany cykliczne praz zmiany w rozwoju ukladu rozrodcze¬ go, jak wyciagi, destylaty lub otrzymywane wytlaczaniem soki z gruczolów rozrodczych zwierzecych, lozysk i tak dalej. W celu uzyskania hormonów postepuje sie np, w sposób nastepujacy: Przyklad I. 5 kg rabairbarum roslinne¬ go rozdrabia sie i zadaje 10 kg alkoholu (etylowego lub metylowego), a nastepnie ekstrahuje. Po przesaczeniu otrzymany roz¬ twór steza sie i znowu zadaje alkoholem.Po ponownem powtórzeniu tych czynnosci roztwór odparowuje sie do sucha i pozosta¬ losc ekstrahuje eterem.Przyklad II. 5 kg zimowych kielków konwaljowych rozdrabia sie i suszy na laz¬ ni powietrznej/Sucha pozostalosc soksletu- je sie eterem i przerabia pozostalosc roz¬ tworu eterowego.Przyklad III. 5 kg ziemniaków obrabia sie, jak w przykladzie II.Przyklad IV. 3 kg jablek obrabia sie, jak w przykladzie I.Mozna równiez postepowac i w ten spo¬ sób, ze do 500 g wilgotnych drozdzy doda-je sie taka sama ilosc wody i mase te wy¬ ciska.
