Abstract

Oppfinnelsen vedrører en fremgangsmåte til fremstilling av rent melamin. Ifølge denne fremgangsmåten avkjøles melaminsmelten som fremstilles fra urea ved en høytrykksprosess, og ammoniakk tilsettes inntil det når en temperatur på omtrent l til 50°C over smeltetemperaturen for melaminet som er avhengig av det respektive trykket for ammoniakk og quenches deretter enten med a) vann eller en vandig løsning eller suspensjon inneholdende ammoniakk og/eller melamin slik at melamin stivner - eller b) med kald flytende eller gassformig ammoniakk slik at melamin stivner, og deretter videre avkjøling av melaminet med vann eller en vandig løsning eller suspensjon inneholdende ammoniakk og/eller melamin og c) deretter isolering av melaminet.
