Abstract

La presente invencion proporciona un mejoramiento en el proceso de produccion de hidrogeno a partir de corrientes que contienen hidrocarburo. Un proceso de reformacion ciclico, conocido como reformacion a presion oscilante, proporciona un medio eficiente para producir un gas de sintesis que contiene hidrogeno para aplicaciones en celdas combustibles. La reformacion a presion oscilante puede integrarse con reacciones de desplazamiento, oxidacion preferencial y separacion de membrana, logrando eficiencias termicas y materiales en relacion con la produccion de hidrogeno habitual. En una modalidad, por lo menos algo del gas de sintesis que se produce primero en el proceso de reformacion a presion oscilante se quema con aire para proporcionar el calor para el paso de regeneracion del proceso de reformacion a presion oscilante.
