Abstract

Se puede convertir en forma eficiente un probucol o derivado de probucol hasta un monoester o monoeter de probucol haciendo reaccionar el probucol que contiene hidroxilo libre o un derivado del mismo (con lo cual se quiere decir un compuesto probucol con por lo menos un sustituyente que sea diferente de aquel en la molecula de probucol precursora pero que conserva los dos grupos hidroxilo libres) con un reactivo de Grignard o un reactivo de litio que produzca un sal de bromuro de magnesio o litio de probucol o el derivado probucol. El anion del compuesto probucol despues se hace reaccionar con un compuesto formador de ester o eter.
