Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a composiciones farmaceuticas esteriles para administracion parenteral, las cuales comprende una emulsion aceite-en agua en la cual el agente sedativo purificador de radical libre disuelto es un solvente no miscible en agua rico en omega-3, es emulsificado con agua y estabilizado por medio de un tensioactivo, la composicion es adecuada ya sea directamente o despues de la dilucion con un diluyente liquido para administracion parenteral a un animal de sangre caliente; en particular a tales composiciones que comprenden propofol, y que ademas comprenden un agente quelante de ion metalico (tal como edetato) y el uso de tales composiciones en el mejoramiento de la supervivencia en pacientes criticamente enfermos.
