Abstract
Un aparato y metodo para el termotratamiento de un objeto, tal como una preforma de fibra optica de vidrio. El tiempo de reposo de un aparato trefilador de fibra optica puede acortarse considerablemente al proporcionar preformas que tienen bulbos (30) trefilados preoptimizados. Se proporcionan los bulbos (30) trefilados preoptimizados los cuales se funden ya apropiadamente en la punta. Un horno (1) de calentamiento se utiliza para dicho pretratamiento termico (preoptimizacion) de las preformas (2) y el cual no contamina el cristal de cuarzo. Utilizando preformas (2) que tienen bulbos trefilados preoptimizados ventajosamente incrementa la produccion del aparato trefilador. De acuerdo con una modalidad, un horno (1) de calentamiento que cumple estos requerimientos incluye una camara (3-5) de calentamiento cilindrica, aislamiento (6-9) de calentamiento que rodea la camara de calentamiento en todos los lados, varios quemadores (12-13) de gas que ponen fuego sobre la punta de la preforma (2) giratoria a traves de las aberturas (10-11) de la camara de calentamiento laterales, y un marco (14). Puesto que la preforma (2) se suaviza despues de una temperatura de aproximadamente T > 1750°C, las temperaturas correspondientemente elevadas deben generarse en la camara (3-5) de calentamiento. Por lo tanto, tanto la camara (3-5) de calentamiento, como los quemadores (12-13) de gas se hacen de cristal de cuarzo o de un material ceramico.
