Abstract

Se presenta un material de polímero de propileno, substancialmente singel, no lineal, de alto peso molecular, normalmente sólido, caracterizadopor su alta resistencia a la fusión debido a su endurecimiento pordeformación el cual se cree se debe ramificaciones de cadena larga deextremo libre de las cadenas moleculares que forman el polímero. Sepresenta también un procedimiento para elaborar el polímero medianteradiación de alta energía de un polímero de propileno, lineal, de altopeso molecular, normalmente sólido en un entorno de oxígeno activoreducido, manteniendo el material irradiado en dicho entorno durante unperíodo específico de tiempo, y después mediante la desactivación de losradicales libres en el material.
