Abstract
Dos acelerómetros lineales (14,16) están interespaciados por una distanciafija ( ) por un eje lineal (18) que es integralmente rotatorio con lacarrocería del vehículo motorizado (12) u otro objeto cuya rotación debeser detectada. Los acelerómetros (14,16) tienen ejes detectores (20,22)que se encuentran colineales con el eje lineal (18). Una computadora (24)calcula la rotación del vehículo (12) en términos de velocidad angular (ý)como una función de la diferencia entre las aceleraciones lineales (a1,12) detectadas por los censores (14,16) y la distancia ( ) entre ellas.Como alternativa pueden quedar los ejes detectores (20,22) perpendicularesal eje lineal (18) y la computadora (24) calcula la rotación del vehículo(12) en términos de aceleración angular (Ó) como otra función de ladiferencia entre las aceleraciones lineales (a1, a2) y la distancia ( ).La rotación detectada es independiente de la ubicación del eje (26)alrededor del cual gira el vehículo (12), del radio de rotación o delmovimiento de traslación del vehículo (12).
