Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a los microorganismos, plantas, y células vegetales recombinantes que se han diseñado para expresar un polipéptido AROM mutante y/o un polipéptido catecol-O-metiltransferasa mutante individualmente o en combinación con una o más enzimas biosintéticas de vainillina o UDP- glicosiltransferasas (UGT, por sus siglas en inglés). Tales microorganismos, plantas, o células vegetales pueden producir la vainillina o el beta-D-glucósido de vainillina.
