Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a cepas de Agrobacterium que albergan genes que incrementan la transformación en un plásmido con la capacidad de réplica independiente del cromosoma de Agrobacterium, el plásmido Ti y vectores binarios de transformación de la planta, y usos de estas cepas Agrobacterium. Además, también se proporcionan las cepas Agrobacterium que tienen deficiencia en las funciones de recombinación de ADN que da como resultado la inestabilidad o reorganización de los vectores binarios de transformación de la planta, y que albergan genes que incrementan la transformación en un plásmido con la capacidad de réplica independiente del cromosoma de Agrobacterium, el plásmido Ti, y vectores binarios de transformación de la planta, y usos de estas cepas. Se incluyen además cepas de Agrobacterium que albergan genes de incremento de transformación integrados en el cromosoma de Agrobacterium en un locus que no interfiere con, o compromete de otra forma el crecimiento normal y la capacidad de transformación de la planta de las células de Agrobacterium, y los usos de estas cepas de Agrobacterium. También se describen plantas elaboradas utilizando estas cepas de Agrobacterium.
