Se revela un proceso para la elaboración de 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro -2-buteno. El proceso implica la reacción de 2,2-dicloro-1,1,1-tri fluoroetano con cobre en presencia de un solvente amida y 2,2'-bipiridina. También se revela un proceso para la elaboración de 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-buteno. El proceso implica la reacción de 2,2- dicloro-1,1,1-trifluoroetano con cobre en presencia de un solvente amida y una sal Cu(I). También se revela un proceso para la elaboración de 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-buteno. El proceso implica la reacción de 2,2-dicloro-1,1,1-trifluoroetan o con cobre en presencia de un solvente amida, 2,2'-bipiridina y una sal Cu(I).
