Abstract
Se describen nanofilamentos de celulosa de fibras de celulosa, un método y un dispositivo para producirlos; los nanofilamentos son filamentos finos con anchos en el rango submicrónico y longitudes de hasta un par de milímetros; estos nanofilamentos están hechos de fibras naturales de madera y otras plantas; la superficie de los nanofilamentos se puede modificar para portar grupos aniónicos, catiónicos, polares, hidrofóbicos u otros grupos funcionales; la adición de estos nanofilamentos a los suministros para fabricación de papel aumenta sustancialmente la resistencia de la fibra a la humedad y resistencia de la hoja en seco mucho mejor que los polímeros naturales y sintéticos existentes; los nanofilamentos de celulosa producidos por la presente invención son aditivos excelentes para el refuerzo del papel y productos de cartón y materiales compuestos y se pueden usar para producir materiales superabsorbentes.
