Abstract

En general, se proveen métodos de fabricación y uso de dispersiones acuosas para impartir resistencia a la grasa/aceite al papel, cartón y productos de fibra de celulosa. En particular, se proveen dispersiones coloidales acuosas que comprenden nanopartículas de por lo menos una arcilla coloidal y un compuesto fluoroquímico acuoso, que se pueden aplicar en o sobre papel, cartón y productos de fibra de celulosa. El papel y cartón que han sido modificados usando estas dispersiones acuosas tienen buena resistencia a la penetración de aceite y grasa, requiriendo cantidades menores de compuestos fluoroquímicos acuosos. En general se proveen métodos adicionales para impartir resistencia a la grasa/aceite al papel, cartón y productos de fibra de celulosa. En particular se provee un procedimiento para mejorar la resistencia al aceite y grasa de un material de fibra de celulosa, el procedimiento comprendiendo: (a) aplicar una composición de pretratamiento que comprende un polímero catiónico a un material de fibra de celulosa en un aprensa de encolado, para formar un sustrato de celulosa pretratado; (b) secar el sustrato de celulosa pretratado; (c) aplicar una composición fluoroquímica al sustrato de celulosa pretratado seco para formar un material de fibra de celulosa repelente de aceite.
