Abstract

Un sistema óptico que incluye un elemento óptico de guía de luz (LOE) con un primer conjunto de superficies parcialmente reflectantes mutuamente paralelas y un segundo conjunto de superficies parcialmente reflectantes mutuamente paralelas con una orientación diferente a la del primer conjunto. Ambos conjuntos de superficies parcialmente reflectantes se encuentran entre un conjunto de superficies externas principales mutuamente paralelas. La iluminación de la imagen introducida en una ubicación de acoplamiento se propaga a lo largo del LOE, es redirigida por el primer conjunto de superficies parcialmente reflectantes hacia el segundo conjunto de superficies parcialmente reflectantes, donde se acopla hacia el ojo del usuario. El primer conjunto de superficies parcialmente reflectantes se implementa como superficies parciales ubicadas donde sea necesario para llenar una caja de movimiento ocular con la imagen requerida. Además, o alternativamente, el espaciado del primer conjunto de superficies parcialmente reflectantes se varía a través de una primera región del LOE. Las características adicionales se refieren a las orientaciones relativas del proyector y de las superficies parcialmente reflectantes para mejorar la compactibilidad y lograr diversos ajustes.
