Abstract
Se describen compuestos de glicósido de esteviol novedosos caracterizados por un primer grupo de cuatro residuos de glucopiranosa unidos a través del carbono número 13 (C13) de la porción de esteviol y un segundo grupo de dos o tres residuos de glucopiranosa unidos a través del carbono número 19 (C19) de la porción de esteviol, y se ejemplifican por los compuestos 1 - 4. Estos compuestos pueden estar presentes en una composición con otros glicósidos de esteviol (por ejemplo, Reb D y Reb M) para mejorar sus solubilidades. En consecuencia, los compuestos nuevos pueden facilitar la preparación de las composiciones acuosas que tienen una concentración mayor de glicósidos de esteviol. Una composición de glicósido de esteviol que incluye uno o más de los compuestos 1-4 puede usarse como una composición edulcorante para endulzar otras composiciones (composiciones edulcorables) tales como alimentos, bebidas, medicamentos, composiciones para la higiene bucal, nutracéuticos y similares.
