Abstract
Un proceso de fabricación del recubrimiento de composición puede incluir seleccionar un sustrato de madera o de material de albañilería y utilizar un sol-gel que comprende un silano o un derivado de silano y un precursor de óxido metálico para recubrir el sustrato; el proceso puede utilizar un proceso de toda la solución o entorno controlado para fabricar un recubrimiento de composición que evita el humedecimiento y/o la formación de manchas en un sustrato; los recubrimientos de composición para el tratamiento de madera o de materiales de albañilería mejoran la resistencia a la intemperie, la resistencia a microbios, la resistencia a manchas y la resistencia a hongos de los materiales; la permeabilidad reducida de los materiales de albañilería resultantes también puede retrasar o inhibir la degradación causada por la premiación de iones tales como cloruros y sulfatos; adicionalmente, una mancha que comprende la solución compuesta y los pigmentos puede impartir una propiedad adicional a madera o materiales de albañilería mientras al mismo tiempo se conserva o se mejora el aspecto original, particularmente para la visibilidad y el contraste del grano de madera visto después de la aplicación del recubrimiento.
