La presente invención se refiere a un producto plano de acero para una conformación en caliente, que está fabricado a partir de un sustrato de acero, que se compone de un acero que presenta del 0,1 - 3 % en peso de Mn y - hasta el 0,01 % en peso de B, y un revestimiento protector aplicado sobre el sustrato de acero a base de Al, que contiene opcionalmente en total hasta el 20 % en peso de otros elementos de aleación, así como a un procedimiento para su fabricación, a un elemento constructivo de acero y a un procedimiento para su fabricación. El producto plano de acero de acuerdo con la invención permite minimizar la absorción de hidrógeno durante el calentamiento necesario para una conformación en caliente. Esto se consigue de acuerdo con la invención por que el revestimiento protector contiene como constituyente de aleación adicional en total del 0,1 - 0,5 % en peso de al menos un metal alcalinotérreo o un metal de transición, formándose en la superficie exterior del revestimiento protector un óxido del metal alcalinotérreo o de metal de transición durante la conformación en caliente del producto plano de acero.
