Abstract
Un método para mejorar, en plantas, varios rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento de importancia económica. Más específicamente, un método para mejorar los rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento en plantas mediante la modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica un polipéptido tipo CLC (tipo canal de cloruro) o un polipéptido tipo OsBURP (proteína que contiene el dominio BURP) o un polipéptido AP2/ERF. También plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica un polipéptido tipo CLC, o un polipéptido tipo OsBURP, o un polipéptido AP2/ERF, en donde dichas plantas tienen mejores rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento, con respecto a las plantas de control. Además constructos que comprenden ácidos nucleicos que codifican polipéptidos tipo CLC, o tipo OsBUR, o AP2/ERF útiles en la realización de los métodos de la invención. Un método para mejorar, en plantas, varios rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento de importancia económica. Más específicamente, un método para mejorar los rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento en plantas mediante la modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica una proteína de fusión que comprende un polipéptido TPS (trehalosa-6-fosfato sintasa) y TPP (trehalosa-6-fosfato fosfatasa) o la modulación de uno o más ácidos nucleicos que codifican una enzima TPS y TPP, ya sea que estén comprendidos en las mismas moléculas o en diferentes moléculas. También plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica un polipéptido TPP, en donde dichas plantas tienen mejores rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento, con respecto a las plantas de control, en particular, cuando se cultivan en condiciones limitantes de nitrógeno. Además ácidos nucleicos que codifican TPS y TPP y constructos que los comprenden desconocidos hasta el momento, útiles en la realización de los métodos de la invención.
