Abstract

La presente invención se refiere en general al campo de la biología molecular y se relaciona a un método para mejorar diversos rasgos de importancia económica relacionados con el rendimiento en plantas. Más específicamente, la presente invención se refiere a un método para mejorar los rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento en plantas por la modulación de la expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica una proteína mejoradora del rendimiento (YEP). La YEP se selecciona del polipéptido similar a la poteína de ensamblaje de nucleosomas 1 (tipo NAP1), un polipéptido tipo Sm (Proteína Lsm, un polipéptido de ciclina H truncada (CycHTr)), un polipéptido de Remorin y una proteína DREB. La presente invención también se refiere a plantas que tienen la expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica tal YEP, dichas plantas tienen rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento mejorado con respecto a las plantas control. La invención también proporciona ácidos nucleicos que codifican YEP desconocidos hasta el momento y construcciones que comprenden los mismos, útiles para realizar los métodos de la invención.
