Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso continuo para prepara mentol racémico u ópticamente activo en forma pura o enriquecida por separación destilativa de mentol a partir de mezclas de sustancias la cual contiene principalmente mentol y diasterómeros de éste. Esta separación destilativa se lleva a cabo en una columna de pared divisora que tiene desde 50 hasta 300 placas teóricas y uno o más puntos de extracción lateral a una presión operativa absoluta de 5 a 500 mbar.
