Abstract

Un proceso para la extracción de un metal precioso, tal como oro o plata, procedente de un mineral o concentrado de sulfuro u otro material de fuente, en donde el proceso comprende someter el material de fuente a oxidación con presión para producir una pasta de oxidación. La pasta de oxidación con presión se desciende a una temperatura y presión inferior y posteriormente se somete a separación de líquido/sólido para obtener una solución de oxidación con presión y un residuo sólido que contiene al metal precioso. Posteriormente el residuo sólido se somete a cianurado para extraer el metal precioso. La formación de tiocianuro durante el cianurado se minimiza o contrarresta efectuando el cianurado a una presión de oxígeno elevada y en un tiempo de retención reducido, tal como 30 a 90 minutos. También se proporciona un método para la reducción de la formación de cianuro de cobre durante el percolado de cianurado.
