Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición refrigerante caracterizada en que comprende aproximadamente entre el 10 y el 60 por ciento por peso de un primer halocarburo que tiene un punto de ebullición a la presión atmosférica en la escala comprendida entre aproximadamente -50 y alrededor de -30 grados C, aproximadamente entre el 10 y el 60 por ciento por peso de un segundo halocarburo que tiene un punto de ebullición a la presión atmosférica en la escala comprendida entre aproximadamente -30 y alrededor de -5 grados C, y aproximadamente entre el 10 y alrededor del 75 por ciento por peso de un tercer halocarburo que tiene un punto de ebullición a la presión atmosférica en la escala comprendida entre aproximadamente -15 y alrededor de 30 grados C, cuyo segundo halocarburo tiene un punto de ebullición mayor que el primer halocarburo y cuyo tercer halocarburo tiene un punto de ebullición mayor que el segundo halocarburo; en que dichos halocarburos contienen, cuando menos, un átomo de flúor; en que, cuando menos, uno de los halocarburos contiene un átomo de hidrógeno; cuyos primer y tercer halocarburos son ininflamables; en que el primer, el segundo y el tercer halocarburos y sus proporciones se eligen de manera que la composición refrigerante resultante sea ininflamable y tenga una presión de vapor considerablemente igual a la presión de vapor del diclorodifluorometano en toda la escala de temperaturas comprendida entre aproximadamente cero y alrededor de 100 grados C, cuya composición refrigerante tenga un potencial de agotamiento de ozono considerablemente menor que el potencial de agotamiento de ozono del diclorodif luorometano y en que dicha composición refrigerante excluye el uso del diclorodifluorometano.
